Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation

There are many reasons that physical therapy may be needed. For some, it's needed to help them recover from a traumatic injury such as a broken bone or a torn ligament. For others it may be used to treat an overuse injury that has become troublesome or keeps them from enjoying activities that they usually do. Those who have surgery often face a rehabilitation period with physical therapy to help improve the results of the surgery and regain activity safely.

Whether you’re recovering from a traumatic injury such as a broken bone, torn ligament, or dislocation, in pain from an injury developed over time like arthritis or cartilage wear, physical therapy can help.

Your primary care physician may have recommended physical therapy to address pain or a lingering condition, or your orthopedic doctor may have prescribed physical therapy to help the recovery of an injury.

The professionals at Generations Physical Therapy consult with you and your doctor to determine your specific needs and create a physical therapy program that works for your unique, individual needs.

Your care will be provided by a full-time physical therapist, who will see you through recovery; watching your progress and modifying your program if appropriate.Your therapy sessions will involve a variety of things including instruction in modifications to daily life that allow you to carry out tasks without pain, stretching, anti-inflammatory measures such as ultrasound, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, icing, heat, specific exercises and drills, and other methods of care to return to your activities as quickly and safely as possible.
