Our practice is medical-based, centered around research-proven methodology and treatment protocols. Upon initial evaluation we are able to help identify the source or cause of injury and determine the most appropriate orthopedic techniques for treatment.
Supervised exercise
During exercise, you will be instructed, monitored and progressed in an appropriate way for your injury. This may include cardiovascular exercises on a stationery bicycle, walking or running on a treadmill, or progressive resisted strengthening exercises with free weights, upper extremity and lower extremity machines. Progression will be made into balancing activities, circuit training, and sport, job or life specific drills. A combination of these tasks will help the injured area to heal or compensate for an imbalance of muscles contributing to the injury or pain.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a form of deep heat used to increase circulation or blood flow which brings nutrients to the troubled area to promote healing and relief of pain. This increase of circulation also carries away the waste products and reduces inflammation in the tissue. It may be used on its own, but often is used along with cold or heat therapy for the best results.

Alternative Therapies
Some people find that complementary therapies such as massage, accupuncture, chiropractic or ayurvedic care is helpful for them. At Generations, we welcome those who are using such alternative healthcare alongside clinical treatment for physical therapy. We do not offer polarity therapy, massage therapy, or healing arts that are not orthopedic in practice.
