PEDIATRIC PATIENTS
Kids, teens and in-betweens – parents have a lot to be concerned about when finding quality care to meet the needs of children’s physical therapy. Whether PT is needed for an injury, a genetic condition, or a development or neuro-balance issue, finding a safe and respected therapist is important to the proper care of your child.

Children and all patients respond best to treatment when they are comfortable and engaged in their care.
- Young patients with vestibular balance will be playing and moving in ways that help improve their condition in age-appropriate ways.
- Approaching teen and adolescent athletes with injuries requires collaboration with parents, patient and coaches – all with the child’s safety in mind.

Our physical therapists enjoy working with children and parents to help our young patients today and encourage a healthy, active lifestyle for years to come!

SURGICAL PATIENTS
When surgery is needed, being prepared for physical therapy can help you approach your recovery with more knowledge and hopefully less frustration. By understanding the rehabilitation phases and being ready to start therapy promptly, many find recovery to be smoother and less frightening.

A hands-on, closely supervised approach to your rehabilitation will safely bring you back to daily living and help to strengthen after surgery. We handle physical therapy for all orthopedic surgery such as joint-replacement, ACL-repair, back surgery, cartilage repairs, and traumatic injury care. After surgery to repair damage caused by overuse or chronic conditions, we also work with patients to change habits, movements or causes of the original damage to help prevent re-injury.

ADULT PATIENTS
With all you do, getting you back to or improving your original condition safely and as quickly as possible is our goal. You will find our clinic offers privacy and convenience to help fit physical therapy into your schedule and make your time with us effective.

Individualized attention and carefully monitoring of your progress means that you receive the right care, for the right amount of time – never rushed, but always purposeful.

Often patients come to us to avoid having surgery – for conditions such as bursitis, rotator cuff injury, tendinitis, lower back or neck pain, sciatica or carpal tunnel. Others rely on us for post-surgical rehabilitation, or help with an acute problem such as a break or fracture, strain or other injury. For motor vehicle accident patients and worker’s compensation patients we help coordinate your treatment and care to help minimize the hassles and navigate return-to-work and health.

ATHELETES/SPORTS MEDICINE
For many athletes an injury or overuse condition can keep you from the active, competitive lifestyle that you are used to. Our goal is to have you return to your prior activity-level and even return stronger with ways to help prevent re-injury.

Acute care for rehabilitation after surgery, working with you to avoid surgery, strengthening and flexibility work to regain or improve movement and agility and treatment of repetition-based injury and aggravation (eg.: tennis elbow, tendinitis, shin splints) are all within the range of our care. We have a well established relationship with sports medicine specialists in the local area as well as Boston.

We’ve been entrusted by professional athletes and dancers, along with individual sport and team athletes. Understanding those of all ages – from the young competitive athlete to the senior who is maintaining a lifetime of sports – we help you to safely return to health.

OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE
Employers can rely on Generations Physical Therapy as a partner in the health and wellbeing of their employees and to work together to help create a safer work environment to reduce and prevent injuries on the job. With experience in occupational medicine and relationships with local municipalities, we help workers return to jobs safely with the goal of preventing re-injury.

We will work together with care coordinators to ensure paperwork and requirements are met and offer progress reporting and ongoing communication between physicians, physical therapists, patients and employer.

On-site visits and ergonomic evaluation at your location are available. To speak with us about work-related injuries and assisting in improving your work-injury rates related to over-use and other types of orthopedic conditions, please call or email us at admin@gptsportsmed.com to set up an appointment to discuss your needs.
